The Perfect Way to Find your Value

So maybe you have been thinking about why I call the coaching program “You Have Value.” Well if we look around at our communities many people are questioning their value. Now the world and some individuals in it feel that their value is more than others. Then there are others who feel like their value is attacked and they are less than people around them. I have told you about my past and how I struggled and felt like I was less than others. People can feel attacked due to racial, cultural, financial or religious differences. We have communities that feel they are not represented or given the same chance to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is sad that what we knew as a toddler that humans are all lovable, we no longer can believe. Now I feel for and want to make a difference in this and for all. I know that there are problems in this world and that many people have experienced things that I haven’t. I know that there are people that have been wronged. I know the system doesn’t protect all. I want to understand you. No matter who you are what you look like or believe. I know that many feel that in order to have value they must be treated differently than they are now. We should treat everyone with value if we want to feel it for ourselves. I know there are people that felt like if they are treated as if they have value it may produce the value they seek inside. I do not want anyone to feel like they are less than I or another person. I have felt less than others before. I have also made others feel like they are less. It was due to my limitations. I beg forgiveness of all those that I have treated like they didn’t have value. That is not who I am nor is it about what I want. It is my goal to create knowledge of their value in millions of people.

The reason I talk about all the other things that I have discussed in my podcast is because I found that my sense of value comes from inside of me, it is based on my actions and how I talk to myself. Value, Confidence, worth, or “Swagger” as my good friend Leslie Elm puts it is all the same. It is a knowledge that can be developed inside a person so that they feel strong, equal, worthy, and enough. It is developed by certain folks despite their ethnicity, background, money, religion or gender. But then there are others who feel stuck in those same groups. If we as communities and as individuals could cultivate value in one another many of the world’s problems would vanish. But this is something that needs to be addressed on both a community and individual basis. Because just making it come from the community will not foster individuals to feel it. Value comes from inside. We have talked to many people in this podcast that have not received their value from the community. In fact they have been beaten down by their community. But they moved past it and became successful, this was due to the value that came from the inside. But in society we don’t teach “value” Most parents don’t teach it. Classrooms don’t instill it. Many teachers and parents don’t know it. It is impossible to teach something you don’t know. Those that have learned it have created it. They create it by soul searching finding out who they are and what they have to offer. They build it with their thoughts and actions.

So that is why I am here! That is what I do! This is so not being addressed I can’t even find it on Google. I can find websites to help find the value of X or the value of a car, home, and many other things but no websites listed to help me develop value as a person. Am I missing something. What can you find? How do you develop value in yourself? Join the community and tell where you have found your value. Ask questions about getting to the next step. Creating value within yourself will change your life. That is worth the effort isn’t it?

Here is a story a father said to his son;

“Here is a watch your grandfather gave me… It is almost 200 years old. Before I give it to you, go to the jewellery store in the city. Tell them that I want to sell it, and see how much they offer you.”

The son went to the jewelry store, came back to his father, and said; “They offered $100 because it is so old.”

The father said; “Well, try the pawnshop.”

The son went to the pawnshop, came back to his father, and said; “The pawnshop offered only $20 because it has a scratch”

The father asked his son to go to the museum and show them the watch.

The son quietly questioned his father’s judgement, but still, willing to act on his last wishes he went to the museum, when he came back he said to his father; “The curator offered $375,000 for this very rare piece to be included in their precious antique collection.”

The father responded;

“I wanted to show you that the right place will value you in the right way. Don’t find yourself in the wrong place and get angry because you are not valued. Never stay in a place where someone doesn’t see your value or you don’t feel appreciated.”

If you don’t know your value, you will always settle for far less than you deserve.

This is why your Value is so important. I do not want you to settle for less than you are worth. You should not take a job or be in a relationship where they do not know your value. Never settle for someone else’s  definition of your value. Do not accept pawnshop people in your life! Do not allow just anyone to influence your perception of yourself. Create your story of your value. Learn to love your life. Refuse the opinions of small minded people.

In our next podcast we will be talking with Katie Rawling and how she has learned to refuse the opinions of small minded people and through the You Have Value program created a life that she loves.
